A 1939 label, reborn bonded.
The Heaven Hill Bottled-in-Bond label dates to 1939 and was once the number-one-selling bourbon in Kentucky. The modern 7-year arrived in June 2019 at $39.99, replacing the beloved 6-year 'green label' — and famously skipped Kentucky shelves in its first national rollout.
'Bottled-in-Bond' is the 1897 Act's consumer guarantee: one distillery, one distilling season, at least four years in a bonded warehouse, bottled at exactly 100 proof. Heaven Hill distills at Bernheim in Louisville and ages and bottles in Bardstown.
Whisky Advocate ranked it #4 in its Top 20 Whiskies of 2019 — 'explosive, bold, buttery' — and the $40 sleeper became the poster child for post-2019 bourbon price creep.
