Elijah Craig is Heaven Hill's flagship premium bourbon line, named for the Baptist preacher long marketed as the “Father of Bourbon.” Historians debate that invention claim, but the brand remains a major reference point for old-school Kentucky bourbon.
The 18 Year Old is bottled from one selected barrel at a time, not blended for batch consistency. Each bottle carries its own barrel identity, so oak, fruit and sweetness can shift from barrel to barrel.
Heaven Hill suspended the 18-year release in 2012 when mature stocks tightened, then brought it back in 2015. Today it sits beside the newer 15-year and revived 21-year single barrels as Elijah Craig's aged prestige tier.
