Tell us about the expression
Email the product details and where it is available. We’ll confirm whether it fits our coverage before you send anything.
Send bottles once confirmed
Our standard request is two bottles per expression: one for blind samples across the panel, one kept sealed for reference. We confirm shipping arrangements by email.
The panel tastes blind
Samples are unlabelled. Each of the three seats commits to a score out of 100 before seeing the others’ scores. Brand and price are withheld during the tasting.
Readers see the whole result
The individual scores and their average appear in the published panel review. You see the score, notes and verdict when our readers do.

A published panel review brings the expression’s background, specifications, tasting notes and verdict together in a dedicated bottle page. Readers can follow it from our review library and relevant guides.
The averaged panel score is our Superior Rating. It identifies the blind panel process; sending bottles never guarantees a favourable result.

COMMON QUESTIONS
Before you send.
Is there a fee to be reviewed?
There is no review fee. We ask for the bottles described above after confirming the submission. Supplying bottles does not buy a score, favourable coverage or a ranking position.
Why do you ask for two bottles?
One is used to prepare blind samples for the panel. The other stays sealed for reference. A third bottle is welcome but is not required.
Do you accept every expression?
No. We select expressions that fit our coverage and our readers’ interests. Contact us first; a decision not to accept a bottle is not a tasting judgement.
What happens if the panel does not like it?
The published review reflects the panel’s assessment, including a low score or critical verdict. The supplier does not approve the result before publication.
Can we share the review and score?
Yes. Quote the result accurately, credit Superior Whiskey and link to the review. When reproducing a panel score, retain the individual seat scores rather than presenting the average without its context.
When will the review appear?
